CJ Cup Byron Nelson — Our Selections for the PGA Tour’s TPC Craig Ranch

The PGA Tour’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson gets underway Thursday at TPC Craig Ranch, and our AI-powered analysis has identified two outright plays and a first round leader pick worth serious consideration.

TPC Craig Ranch consistently rewards accuracy over raw distance — five years of data point firmly in one direction. Approach play and driving accuracy are the metrics that matter here, not how far you hit it. Winning scores are deep — mid-to-high twenties under par — so we need players who can sustain scoring across four rounds.

Si Woo Kim — 14/1 EW, 5 places (1pt each way, 2 total) The standout value in the field beyond the obvious favourite. Si Woo’s strokes gained profile is second only to Scheffler in this entire field — his approach play and ball-striking metrics are perfectly aligned with what TPC Craig Ranch demands. He’s a previous winner at this venue and he draws the early wave on Thursday, the ideal conditions in Texas. At 14/1 with five places on offer this is our headline selection.

Jordan Spieth — 16/1 EW, 5 places (1pt each way, 2 total) A Texas native in his home state, and the data backs up the intuition. Strong approach play, balanced strokes gained profile, and a proven record in Texas events across his career. Spieth’s ceiling when his short game clicks is as high as anyone in this field. Five places at 16/1 gives excellent each-way coverage. Worth ensuring the best available price as this one may shorten.

Keith Mitchell FRL (First Round Leader) — 45/1 EW, 6 places (1pt each way, 2 total) The first round leader pick is built around one key factor — Mitchell tees off at 07:11, one of the earliest slots in the entire field. In Texas in May, morning conditions are significantly calmer and cooler than the afternoon. His strokes gained profile fits — solid off the tee, strong iron play — and he’s a known fast starter who historically over-performs in opening rounds. Six places at 1/5 gives that extra safety net. The extra place is the reason to seek out the best terms on this one.

Glory Double — Mitchell FRL + Si Woo Kim (0.25pt each way, 0.5 total) For those interested in the combined selection, some platforms offer this as a linked double at around 503/1. Most providers no longer offer this market so availability is limited — worth checking before Thursday morning.

Monday Horse Racing Selections – 18 May 2026

A quick look back at the PGA Championship before we move forward. Mixed feelings — Rahm and Schauffele both placed and we very nearly broke even on the week, which in a Major field of 150+ players is far from a disaster. Rahm in particular looked like he had the tools to win it but couldn’t quite close the gap on Rai down the stretch. A few things went against us but the analysis was sound and the model identified two of the players who genuinely contended.

On to more positive things — the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch starts Thursday. We’ll have our full data-backed analysis and selections published Wednesday. Watch this space.

For today, two selections across the UK and Ireland evening cards.

Counting Cards — 3:00 Carlisle — 8/1 each way, 4 places (1pt) Back down to 5f and racing off a mark of 70 which looks very workable. Raced too keenly last time at Musselburgh but the headgear comes off today which should help significantly. Trainer Edward Bethell has an excellent record at Carlisle and that’s a major positive. Each-way chance with four places on offer.

Syzygy — 6:50 Roscommon — 9/4 (1pt) A standout on the card. Won a hat-trick last season including over a similar race at the Curragh, and her performance in the Irish Lincoln this season marks her out as the one to beat here. Back up in distance which suits. Should be there or thereabouts — worth ensuring best odds guaranteed in case of any market drift before the off.

Saturday Afternoon Horse Racing Selections — 16 May 2026

Three selections across the afternoon and evening cards today, with a win play at Newbury and each-way value at Newmarket and Doncaster.

Albert Einstein — 3:10 Newbury — 9/4 WIN (1pt) The Moore/O’Brien combination always demands respect, and Albert Einstein has the form to back it up. Twice successful at 6f on good ground, he stepped up to 7f last month and ran a cracker — third of eight behind Alparslan, beaten just 1¾ lengths as the 9/4 favourite. Drop back to his optimum 6f trip looks like the move that unlocks a win today.

Silver Ghost — 2:50 Newmarket — 4/1 EW 4 places (1pt each way) Two wins at 7f on good ground and a solid course-and-distance run earlier this month — third of six behind Billyjoh, beaten 2¾ lengths at 7/1 on good to firm. Proven at the track, proven at the trip. At 4/1 each-way with four places on offer, the value is there.

Lorna B — 6:38 Doncaster — 5/1 EW 4 places (1pt each way) Three wins across good, good to soft and all-weather surfaces at 6f. Latest run was September last year when fifth of 16 at Thirsk at 9/1, beaten 2¾ lengths behind Eternal Sunshine. Seasonal return to watch, and 5/1 each-way with four places on offer is a fair price.

All selections 1pt unless stated. Each-way = win and place. Bet Responsibly — 18+

York Dante Festival Friday Selections: 40/1 Each-Way Value, Proven Course Form and a Royal Ascot Contender (May 15, 2026)

The final day of the York Dante Festival brings three selections across the card — a proven course performer at a solid price, a big-priced each-way play with the draw in her favour, and a potentially special horse heading towards Royal Ascot.

The low draw bias has been a consistent theme all week at York and today’s selections account for that — stalls 4, 5 and 6 across the three races.

2:55 — HAVE SECRET | 10/1 | 5 places | 1pt each-way | Stall 6

Five wins on good to soft ground, a victory at Pontefract last month and a third place in this exact race earlier this season. Have Secret arrives with genuine York form and conditions that suit. Stall 6 is ideal given this week’s draw bias and five places at 10/1 makes this a well-grounded each-way selection. The form is backed up, the track suits and the draw works in her favour.

1pt each-way @ 10/1 — 5 places

4:40 — NUEVO SLOVO | 40/1 | 5 places | 1pt each-way | Stall 4

The standout each-way value selection of the day. Well handicapped off 91, returning to 5 furlongs which looks the right trip, and drawing stall 4 — the perfect position given this week’s low draw bias at York.

The stable switch to Simon Pearce is the risk but also the opportunity — fresh horses for new trainers often run well and Pearce needs a winner. At 40/1 with five places the each-way mathematics are excellent. If the ability is there, she should comfortably outrun her odds.

1pt each-way @ 40/1 — 5 places

5:15 — PORTCULLIS | Evens | WIN | 2pts win | Stall 5 | William Buick

A Frankel offspring, half-brother to Crown Estate, carrying the colours of the King and Queen with William Buick in the saddle. Portcullis stormed home at Newmarket recently and today looks like the next stop on what could be a very exciting season.

The potential destination is the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot — and a convincing win today would announce him as a genuine contender for one of the summer’s most prestigious races. Evens reflects the market’s confidence. The pedigree, the form, the jockey and the occasion all point the same way.

2pts win @ Evens

Total today: 4pts staked across three selections. For live updates follow on X and Bluesky. The AI Golf Bot’s Min Woo Lee is joint leading the PGA Championship at 55/1 after round one — full card on the Twister Tipster Substack, free to subscribe at the link below.

York Dante Festival Thursday (May 14, 2026) Picks — Three Selections Across the Card

Three selections at York today across the Dante Festival card… sign up for regular golf and horse racing picks.

2:20 — Hammer the Hammer | 8/1 | 6 places | 1pt each-way

An Irish raider that the market may be underestimating. Better than handicap level on his best form, he showed genuine speed at Royal Ascot last year before connections dropped him back in trip. The return to 5 furlongs looks spot on. The key flag here is a recent wind operation — horses returning from wind surgery are consistently underrated by the market and if that has resolved his breathing issues this is a completely different proposition at 8/1.

The one caveat is stall 13 — not ideal given the low draw bias at York this week. We’re taking the risk on the form and the wind op rather than worrying about the draw. At 8/1 with 6 places the each-way value justifies it.

1pt each-way @ 8/1 — 6 places

2:55 — Cerulean Bay | 6/1 | 5 places | 1pt each-way

This one ticks almost every box. Was below his best in the first half of last season but improved significantly as the year went on — that trajectory heading into this campaign is encouraging. Handles courses with bends well, which York suits perfectly, and crucially draws a nice stall in 6.

The clincher is the course form — he finished second here over the same distance last year. He knows the track, handles the trip, and arrives in improving form with a favourable draw. Solid each-way proposition at 6/1.

1pt each-way @ 6/1 — 5 places

4:05 — Action | 11/2 | 3 places | 1pt each-way

The Aidan O’Brien angle alone commands respect — his runners at big meetings carry stable confidence and are rarely without a chance. But there’s genuine form to back this up. Action has performed well in Group 1 company previously, including against Bow Echo who went on to win the 2,000 Guineas, and is closely related to Lambourn, the 2025 Derby winner. The class is not in question.

The key update is the tongue tie being removed today after issues last time out. Tongue tie removal is one of the most consistently positive signals in racing — if that was restricting him previously, today could be a different horse entirely. Stall 7 is a decent draw with no concerns given the track bias.

The only note is that 3 places at 11/2 makes this more of a win-orientated play than the others — factor that in to your expectations.

1pt each-way @ 11/2 — 3 places

Total exposure today: 6pts staked across three each-way bets.

Our AI Golf Bot Found Another 50/1 Winner… And It’s Just Getting Started – Monday May 11, 2026

There are weeks in betting that remind you why you do this. This weekend was one of them…

While the horse racing was frustrating — fine margins, as ever — the Twister Tipster AI Golf Predictor quietly put in one of its best performances yet. The headline: Nicolai Hojgaard at 50/1, placed at the Truist Championship. One pick. Nine points returned on a one-point each-way stake.

But that’s just the weekend. Step back and look at the bigger picture and the numbers become genuinely hard to ignore.

The AI Golf Bot — Two Weeks In

We launched the Twister Tipster AI Golf Predictor at the start of the PGA Tour season with a simple idea: use AI modelling to identify value picks across outright winners, first-round leaders, and place opportunities that the market underestimates.

Two weeks in, here’s where we stand:

  • Week 1 (Cadillac Championship): +31.20pts. Cameron Young identified as both outright winner at 11/1 and first-round leader at 20/1 — both landed.
  • Week 2 (Truist Championship + Catalunya): The bot found Hojgaard at 50/1 for a place, and Ludvig Aberg at 11/1 for a place. A tough week overall but those two picks did the damage.
  • All-time P&L: +30.37pts from 26.5pts staked — a return on investment of +114.6%.

Two tournaments. Two outright winners and three place returns. The AI model isn’t just finding winners at short prices — it’s identifying big-priced selections that others are missing.

This Weekend’s Highlights

The Truist Championship produced three placed selections from the AI bot’s card: Hojgaard (50/1), Aberg (11/1), and Cameron Young (7/1, shared place). In any individual week that would represent excellent each-way value. Combined with Week 1’s clean sweep on Cameron Young, the AI predictor is building a track record that speaks for itself.

What’s Next — The PGA Championship

The PGA Championship is one of the four majors and one of the biggest betting events in golf. The field is deeper, the prices are bigger, and the opportunities for the AI model to find value are greater than in any regular Tour event.

We’ll be publishing our full AI Golf Predictor card for the PGA Championship exclusively on the Twister Tipster Substack — outright picks, first-round leader selections, each-way value plays, and the glory double. If the Cadillac and Truist are anything to go by, you’ll want to be there.

The majors are where reputations are made. We’ll see you there.

Golf Picks Still In Play — Sunday Truist & Catalunya Update (Sunday, May 10 2026)

It’s been a tough week on the racing, but the golf could yet turn things around. Three selections are still live heading into Sunday’s final rounds, and at least two of them have genuine winning chances.

Nicolai Hojgaard — Truist Championship (50/1, 6 places) This was always a pick with upside and he’s delivered. Hojgaard is right in contention at the Truist Championship and at 50/1 an outright win would be a significant return. He’s playing with confidence and the closing holes suit his game. Still very much alive.

Cam Young — Truist Championship (7/1, 10 places) Young has been one of the standout performers this week and is near the top of the leaderboard. A strong closer with plenty of experience in Sunday pressure situations. Keep an eye on him through the back nine.

Oliver Lindell — Catalunya Championship, Barcelona (28/1, 8 places) Over on the DP World Tour, Lindell is in contention for a place finish at the Catalunya Championship. Down a touch in the rankings but playing well on a course that suits him. At 28/1 a place return would be very welcome.

Three darts still in the air — updates to follow as the rounds conclude.
