Punchestown and Ascot – Horse Racing Selections for May 1, 2026

What a week it’s been! Two winners yesterday at Punchestown, and if you’ve been following the AI golf bot on the Substack, Cameron Young landed at 20/1 as first round leader at the Cadillac Championship. The AI tool is doing exactly what it’s built to do.

Right — let’s get into today’s picks…

Funiculi Funicula at Punchestown 5:25 — 4/1 Each Way (5 places)

Willie Mullins dominates Punchestown Festival week, and this gelding is a prime example of why. Fast, jumps well, and has been successful over both hurdles and fences. Four to one each way with five places on offer is a cracking each way bet. This is the pick of the day.

Dosman at Ascot 5:30 — 9/2 Each Way (4 places available)

We’ve backed Dosman before and he’s delivered. The overnight support has come in — always a positive sign — and the key question is whether he can transfer his all-weather form to the turf. We think he can. Shop around for the four place terms as not all firms are offering them.

Looking Ahead

Big weekend incoming. The 2,000 Guineas and the Kentucky Derby are both on Saturday — it doesn’t get much bigger than that in racing. Full selections will be on the Substack too as well as here — make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss them.

Good luck today, 18+. 🏇

Punchestown Day 3 Horse Racing — Three Each-Way Selections (30 April 2026)

Day three of the Punchestown Festival and we have three each-way plays that we really like. All logged in the P&L tracker from the off.

3.40 Busselton — 9/2 each way (3 places) Busselton won this exact race last year and everything points to connections having targeted this again. Darragh O’Keeffe takes the ride — hard to leave out at the price.

4.15 Karl Des Tourelles — 7/1 each way (5 places) Ran a stormer at Cheltenham before getting badly hampered and running out of room. Drops in class today and gets five places to play with — this is a massive each-way opportunity.

4.50 Come Walk With Me — 7/1 each way (5 places) A fast, classy horse who caught the eye at Fairyhouse last month. Punchestown should suit her well and again we get five places each way.

Total outlay: 6pts (1pt each way x 3) All bets logged in the P&L tracker — results updated tonight.

Jack with today’s Punchestown picks

Golf and Horse Racing Selections Including Cadillac PGA and Punchestown – Wednesday April 29, 2026

Good morning – we had a very poor day yesterday at Punchestown with none of the selections doing anything of note. This can happen and it is the nature of horse racing – you sadly have to take your medicine at times just as you enjoy the spoils of the winners.

We are not going to be put off but we will tighten up to just two selections for Punchestown today and given our golf form has been phenomenal, there’s a few picks for the two main events coming up this weekend…

Golf Selections – April 29

Cadillac Championship PGA – Winner

Jake Knapp 28/1 each way (6 places)

Kurt Kitayama 33/1 each way (8 places)

Turkish Open DPWT – Winner

Freddy Shott 55/1 each way (7 places)

Francesco Molinari 60/1 each way (6 places)

Horse Racing Selections – April 29

Punchestown Festival – Day 2, Punchestown

3.05 Simply Natural 6/1 each way (4 places)

4.10 Doctor Steinberg 4/1 each way

18+, be responsible

Horse Racing Selections Including Punchestown Festival Day 1 – Tuesday April 28, 2026

Good morning – let’s get back to it with some more winners! Today is the start of the annual Punchestown Festival – time to enjoy some jumps before the flat takes over entirely!

Here are some picks for today…

Horse Racing Selections – April 28

Punchestown Festival – Day 1

3.05 Sticwiththeprocess 10/1 each way (6 places)

3.40 Jet to Monte Carlo 11/2 each way (5 places)

4.15 Skylight Hustle 9/2 each way (3 places)

4.50 July Flower 16/1 each way (3 places)

That’s enough for now – I’m going to swerve the trickier races and focus on the each way value. Good luck – 18+

Horse Racing Selections – Saturday April 25, 2026

Good morning – we had a comfortable winner with The Dog Thief yesterday (15/8 and 2/1 SP). Let’s try to find one or two more on a busy Saturday…

Horse Racing Selections – April 25

Sandown

1.45 Cosmic Connection 6/1 each way (5 places)

Jockey Sam Twiston-Davies seemed positive about his chances on this one today and there has been a flow of support in recent days. The five-year-old can defy top weight today and build on a good win last month at Warwick.

4.40 Calimystic 6/5 win

Looks the obvious one in this race with the Henderson/De Boinville combo – on a winning run and you’ll do well to get an odds against price.

Leicester

2.05 Berkshire Whisper 9/1 each way (4 places)

The each-way price has long gone for the favourite so let’s take a chance on this one in the big handicap – three wins at six furlongs on all-weather and with Jason Watson on board must have a chance to feature.

Ripon

4.10 Seven Questions 2/1 win

We have two each-way plays so back to a more obvious one here at a decent-ish odds against price before it shortens. Hollie Doyle rides this four-time Irish winner which should feature well here.

18+, be responsible!

Horse Racing Selections – Friday April 24, 2026

Good morning – we’ve had a slight spring clean and a little rebrand/change of things around here. It was about time after a couple of years and going forward, we want to make things look as professional as possible… more to come on this in the weeks coming up!

Anyway for now, we had Tommy’s Oscar place yesterday but couldn’t quite pick up the win. The flat season is now starting to pick up ahead of the big meetings in May. Here’s a couple for today to consider…

Horse Racing Selections – April 24

Sandown

1.50 Look to the Stars 5/1 win

The top 2 in the market are worth taking on with this Goldolphin three-year-old – Buick’s on board and you can get a decent price. Worth a small play.

Perth

3.47 The Dog Thief 15/8 win

Lightly-raced progressive type who holds well against the form – won last month on his maiden hurdle race at Market Rasen and a victor at Alnwick.

More to come for the weekend – be sensible, 18+ etc.
