Tuesday Selections: Three Each-Way Plays from Newton Abbot and Newbury

Date Posted: Monday June 22, 2026

Two yards, two each-way price points, and a card that gives our model exactly the field shapes it likes. Here’s where our analysis is landing for Tuesday (in order of confidence!).

PICK 1: Jetty May — Thatchers Handicap Chase, Newton Abbot (8:50) — 11/2 — 1pt Each-Way

This is our standout selection of the day. Jetty May tops our ratings in this race by a clear margin, has a positive course form, and Paul Nicholls’ yard is in excellent recent form. The nine-runner field gives us the kind of each-way shape we look for, with three places on offer. It’s a staying handicap chase over 3m2f, so it’s not without risk, but at 11/2 with three places, this fits our steady-profit profile well.

PICK 2: Signcastle City — Venture Security Handicap, Newbury (7:00) — 11/2 — 1pt Each-Way (5 places)

A shorter trip than we’d usually want for an each-way play, but the terms make this one stand out. Signcastle City sits at or near the top of our key ratings and arrives in consistent form. The 16-runner field with five places paid gives us a sensible return angle even if he doesn’t quite get to the front. We’d want this at 11/2 or better to make the each-way terms work.

PICK 3: Belgarum — Handicap Hurdle, Newton Abbot (8:20) — 6/1 — 1pt Each-Way

Our third selection of the day. Belgarum has a strong profile across the board — recent form, course and distance positives, trainer form and a solid rating. We slightly prefer Jetty May from the same card, but Belgarum is a fair third selection in its own right at 6/1 each-way.

SUMMARY

Three each-way selections for Tuesday — Jetty May (11/2) at Newton Abbot is our pick of the day, with Signcastle City (11/2, 5 places) at Newbury and Belgarum (6/1) rounding out the card.
