Royal Ascot: Nola Soul Lands — Plus Two Selections for Tomorrow

Thursday was another strong day for the model at Royal Ascot with our play of the day winning in the Chesham – two more now for tomorrow…

Nola Soul won the Chesham Stakes on Day 3 (11/2 SP, we quoted 5/1 with 30p Rule 4), while Jamestown ran on for 3rd in the Britannia Stakes at our quoted 10/1 (11/2 PSP). That takes the week’s running total to three winners and two places from six selections across the meeting so far!

Two more selections go into tomorrow’s card.

PICK 1: Venetian Sun — Commonwealth Cup (3:05) — 13/8 — 2.5pts Win

Venetian Sun is our standout case of the week. A winner of five of her last six starts across 5f and 6f, on ground ranging from good to firm through to good to soft, she’s a course and distance winner already and arrives with form that doesn’t have a visible weak point. Her latest win came as 7-4 favourite in the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock over 6f, beating Division by three lengths. At 13/8 for a filly this consistent, we’re backing her with conviction at 2.5pts win.

PICK 2: Emit — Duke of Edinburgh Stakes (3:40) — 13/2 — 1pt Each-Way (5 places)

Emit is our each-way value play in a typically huge Ascot handicap. Successful at 1m1f and 1m4f on good and soft ground, he was stepped up to 1m6f at the Curragh earlier this month and found that a trip too far, finishing eighth of twelve, fourth at 5/1. Dropping back into range tomorrow, with Ryan Moore taking the ride for Joseph O’Brien, his form figures (2-4354) suggest he’s well capable of running into the places again. With five places paid each-way, that’s good cover at 13/2.

SUMMARY

Nola Soul (5/1) and Jamestown (10/1) both delivered on Day 3. Tomorrow we’re on Venetian Sun in the Commonwealth Cup at 13/8 (2.5pts win) and Emit in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes at 13/2 (1pt each-way, 5 places). Full reasoning, prices and the running P&L are always on the site.
