We had a nice Saturday so our £20 to £1000 Challenge carries on – we are at – or about – £39.50. Some may have more in the bank given the insane drift on Hukum (our quoted odds came in before much of that)!
We will keep that £39.50 safe and bring it back into play tomorrow when the racing is of a higher quality. Sunday is traditionally poor for racing in the UK and Ireland.
Thus, no bet is being officially put forward today.
That said, one horse keeps coming up in my research and may be worth a bonus side punt (small bet – no more than a fiver win or fiver each way).
That is – Hell Red in the 3.10 at Uttoxeter. As it’s only a five-horse race, I’m going to bet small with a £5 win bet. As the odds are not fantastic and the conditions are not ideal, this is only a side bet and not part of our official challenge.
The horse has won 5/7 in this type of race and 54% in this type of going. It was going well when runing in small-field novie event chases last summer and won in April at Fontwell but has hit bad form on hurdles – back chasing today though so has a decent chance in a pretty poor race! Small punt seems fair. Currently, 6.2 on Betfair Exchange!
