Constitution Hill 4/1 win (make sure NRNB)
Okay, okay – this is a controversial one! It’s more of an insurance pick as I would be kicking myself if this horse showed up and finally performed to an ounce of the level he’s capable of. Constitution Hill is due to run at Southwell on the all-weather in a pointless flat race on Friday and if he gets through that easily, 4/1 will look a ridiculous price! The level of competition in this race this year is poor – nobody seems to want to win this race. All Constitution Hill needs to do (easily said!), is jump the hurdles successfully and get round – i.e. not fall. If this happens, Con Hill wins! I may put up another horse nearer the time or on the day but at least we will have this in the back pocket and not look like fools, should Con Hill walk it… I wouldn’t go mad with your stakes though – we’ve all been stung before!!
